Overview

BMS-986178 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that acts as an agonist of the OX40 receptor (also known as CD134 or TNFRSF4), a co-stimulatory receptor expressed on activated T cells. By binding to and activating OX40, BMS-986178 mimics the action of the endogenous OX40 ligand, leading to increased proliferation and survival of T cells, thereby enhancing immune responses against tumors. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and has been evaluated both as monotherapy and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors such as nivolumab (anti-PD1) and ipilimumab (anti–CTLA4). The drug is currently in early-phase clinical trials for various solid tumor indications[1][2][3][5][7].
