Overview

**BMS-986218 + nivolumab** is an investigational combination therapy for cancer, composed of BMS-986218, a monoclonal antibody targeting CTLA-4 (specifically, a nonfucosylated anti-CTLA-4 antibody), and nivolumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits PD-1. BMS-986218 functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking CTLA-4, thereby potentiating T-cell activation and anti-tumor immune response. Nivolumab further enhances immune activity against cancer by inhibiting PD-1, preventing tumor cells from escaping immune surveillance. This dual checkpoint blockade is intended to bolster anti-tumor immune responses more effectively than either agent alone. The combination is being trialed primarily in advanced solid tumors and metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].
