BMS-986226 is an investigational agonistic monoclonal antibody that targets the inducible T-cell co-stimulator (ICOS, also known as CD278), a protein expressed on certain T cells. By binding to ICOS, BMS-986226 was designed to modulate immune responses and exert antineoplastic (anti-cancer) effects. The drug was developed by Bristol Myers Squibb for use in oncology, specifically for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. Clinical development included evaluation both as monotherapy and in combination with other immunotherapies such as nivolumab or ipilimumab. However, development of BMS-986226 has been discontinued following Phase 1/2 trials in patients with advanced solid tumors[1][2][4][5].
