Overview

BMS-986235 (also known as LAR-1219) is a selective, orally active small molecule agonist of the formyl peptide receptor 2 (FPR2). It was developed for its potential to promote resolution of inflammation and prevent heart failure by activating FPR2-mediated pro-resolving pathways. The drug has demonstrated selectivity for human and mouse FPR2 with nanomolar potency and has been shown to enhance neutrophil apoptosis and promote macrophage recruitment—key steps in resolving inflammation after tissue injury. BMS-986235 reached phase 1 clinical trials for indications including heart failure prevention and general inflammation but development appears to have been discontinued[1][2][4][6].
