Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BMS-986353 (formerly CC-97108) is a bispecific T-cell engager (TCE) developed by Bristol Myers Squibb for the treatment of B-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. The molecule is designed to simultaneously bind to CD19 on the surface of B cells and the CD3 epsilon chain on T cells. This dual binding facilitates the recruitment and activation of T cells to selectively deplete pathogenic B cells. Unlike traditional anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, CD19-targeted TCEs aim to achieve deeper and more durable B-cell depletion in both peripheral blood and tissues, which may provide enhanced therapeutic benefits in conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and lupus nephritis. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics.
