Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BMX-500 is a preclinical-stage bispecific antibody and MAIT (Mucosal-Associated Invariant T) cell engager developed by Biomunex Pharmaceuticals using its proprietary BiXAb® platform. Co-invented with Institut Curie, the drug is designed to treat solid tumors and hematological malignancies. It functions by simultaneously binding to the MR1 receptor on MAIT cells and specific tumor-associated antigens (TAA) on cancer cells. This redirection of MAIT cells aims to induce targeted tumor cell killing while potentially overcoming common limitations of traditional CD3-based T-cell engagers, such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and the activation of regulatory T cells (Tregs).
