BMX-502 is a first-in-class, preclinical bispecific antibody designed to engage and activate mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAIT cells), a subset of cytotoxic non-conventional T cells, while simultaneously targeting the glypican-3 (GPC3) tumor antigen. GPC3 is a clinically validated target highly expressed in several cancer types, particularly in solid tumors located in mucosal and barrier tissues where MAIT cells are abundant. Developed using Biomunex’s proprietary BiXAb technology platform, BMX-502 selectively redirects MAIT cells to kill GPC3-expressing cancer cells. This approach aims to overcome limitations of current pan-T cell engager therapies—such as regulatory T cell activation and cytokine release syndrome—by providing a more favorable therapeutic window and improved safety profile for patients with solid tumors[1][4][5][6].
