Overview

BNH-101 (also known as BNH-0158) is an orally available small molecule drug candidate developed by BnH Research. It acts as a positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of the GluN2B subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. The drug's primary mechanism of action is to "reopen" cortical plasticity in the adult brain, aiming to restore cognitive function and memory. Unlike therapies targeting amyloid-beta or tau proteins, BNH-101 focuses on enhancing neuroplasticity in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus. It is being developed for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Preclinical studies in Alzheimer's models have demonstrated dose-dependent improvements in neuroplasticity and cognitive memory.
