BNT152 + BNT153 is an investigational combination therapy composed of two mRNA-based drugs, BNT152 and BNT153, being developed for the treatment of various advanced solid tumors. Both agents utilize lipid nanoparticles to deliver messenger RNA encoding for cytokines: BNT152 encodes interleukin-7 (IL-7), while BNT153 encodes interleukin-2 (IL-2). These cytokines are designed to potentiate the immune response against cancer by stimulating proliferation and function of immune effector cells, such as T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. The combination aims to leverage synergistic effects observed in preclinical and early clinical studies, including enhanced antitumor activity compared to monotherapy with either agent alone. The drugs are administered intravenously, and the clinical strategy is currently focused on patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors for whom no standard curative therapies are available[1][3][6][7][10].
