BNT165c is an investigational mRNA vaccine component developed by BioNTech as part of its BNT165 malaria vaccine program. It consists of a lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-encapsulated messenger RNA that encodes the full-length circumsporozoite protein (CSP) of *Plasmodium falciparum*. CSP is the primary surface protein of the malaria sporozoite and is the target of the only currently approved malaria vaccines (RTS,S and R21). BNT165c is designed to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against the pre-erythrocytic stage of the parasite. It is being evaluated in clinical trials both as a standalone component and as part of the multi-antigen vaccine candidate BNT165e, which includes additional RNAs targeting liver-stage antigens.
