Overview

BNT327 + carboplatin + paclitaxel is a combination regimen used as a first-line treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). BNT327 is an investigational bispecific antibody targeting both PD-L1 and VEGF-A. By simultaneously inhibiting PD-L1 and VEGF-A, BNT327 restores cytotoxic T cell functionality and inhibits tumor angiogenesis and immune evasion. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are standard chemotherapy agents: carboplatin is a platinum-based DNA crosslinker causing apoptosis, and paclitaxel is a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, thereby arresting cells in mitosis and promoting cell death. This combination aims to synergistically target tumor growth and survival by immune reactivation, inhibition of angiogenesis, and direct cytotoxicity[1][4][6][8].
