Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bomacorin is a traditional herbal medicine containing a high-dose dry extract of hawthorn leaves with flowers (*Crataegus* species). It is developed and marketed by Hevert-Arzneimittel (originating from Johannes Bürger Ysatfabrik) for the treatment of mild forms of heart failure, specifically declining cardiac performance corresponding to NYHA (New York Heart Association) stage II (or stage B). The active ingredients in hawthorn extract, such as flavonoids and oligomeric procyanidins, help strengthen the heart muscle, improve blood flow and oxygen supply to the coronary arteries, and regulate cardiac rhythm.
