BON-110 is a novel nucleic acid drug candidate developed by Bonac Corporation for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). It utilizes Bonac's proprietary Bonac Nucleic Acid (BNA) platform, which consists of a single-stranded RNA molecule with a unique secondary structure designed to enhance stability and cellular uptake without the need for complex delivery systems. BON-110 specifically targets and silences the mRNA of Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 (TGF-β1), a potent pro-fibrotic cytokine that plays a central role in the pathogenesis of lung fibrosis. By reducing TGF-β1 levels, BON-110 aims to inhibit the activation of myofibroblasts and the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in the lungs.
