Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (autologous) is a cell therapy being developed by StemiGen for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. This autologous therapy involves harvesting mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from the patient's own bone marrow, which are then processed and administered via intra-articular injection into the affected knee joint. The therapeutic mechanism is based on the regenerative and immunomodulatory properties of MSCs, which secrete various bioactive molecules that promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and potentially slow the progression of joint degeneration. The product is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials to evaluate its safety and efficacy in improving joint function and reducing pain in patients with osteoarthritis.
