This cell therapy product consists of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) developed by the Republican Research and Practical Center of Transfusion and Medical Biotechnologies in Belarus. These multipotent stromal cells are characterized by their ability to differentiate into various mesodermal lineages and their potent immunomodulatory properties. The therapy works by secreting a variety of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors (the secretome) and through direct cell-to-cell contact, which collectively suppress inflammatory responses and promote tissue repair. It is produced under the technical specification TY BY038-2019 and has been approved in Belarus for clinical use, particularly for treating autoimmune conditions and complications associated with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, such as graft-versus-host disease (GvHD).
