Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Investigational cell therapy consisting of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) developed by Sun Yat-sen University for the treatment of pediatric idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis (IPH). These cells exert immunomodulatory effects by increasing the population of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cells and decreasing Th17 cells, thereby reducing alveolar capillary hemorrhage and promoting tissue repair. In clinical studies, it has been evaluated as a maintenance therapy in combination with corticosteroids and leflunomide to prevent recurrence and progression to pulmonary fibrosis in children with refractory IPH.
