Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BMSCs + PRP is a combination regenerative therapy consisting of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). BMSCs are multipotent progenitor cells capable of differentiating into chondrocytes, osteoblasts, and adipocytes, providing a cellular foundation for tissue repair. PRP is a concentrated autologous blood product containing high levels of growth factors, including platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). In this combination, PRP acts as both a bioactive scaffold and a stimulus for BMSC proliferation, migration, and differentiation. The therapy is primarily investigated for orthopedic applications such as osteoarthritis, bone non-union, and tendon injuries, where it aims to enhance healing, reduce inflammation, and improve functional outcomes compared to either component alone.
