Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bone marrow stromal stem cell gel is an experimental regenerative therapy developed by Shanghai Tongji Hospital for the treatment of cartilage defects. The product consists of a composite gel scaffold seeded with bone marrow-derived stromal stem cells (BMSCs). These cells are multipotent and capable of differentiating into chondrocytes when placed in a suitable microenvironment. The gel serves as a biocompatible matrix that supports cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation, facilitating the repair of damaged articular cartilage. Clinical evaluation has focused on its safety and efficacy in promoting cartilage regeneration in patients with joint injuries.
