Overview

BoneAlbumin is a serum albumin-coated bone allograft developed by OrthoSera GmbH for bone regeneration applications. It consists of demineralized bone matrix or freeze-dried bone allograft coated with human serum albumin, making it a human tissue product derived from donated bone and blood. The biological mechanism involves the albumin coating activating endogenous mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and progenitor cells, facilitating their attachment and proliferation on the bone surface. This process results in accelerated bone formation, increased mechanical strength, and improved tissue remodeling compared to standard uncoated bone grafts. BoneAlbumin is utilized in various orthopedic and dental procedures, including the treatment of critical size bone defects, sinus floor augmentation, and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
