Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BoneGen is a specialized dietary supplement developed by TRB Chemedica, primarily indicated for the maintenance of bone health and the prevention or management of osteoporosis. It is formulated as a combination of three key nutrients essential for bone metabolism: Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate), Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), and Vitamin K2 (specifically in the form of Menaquinone-7 or MK-7). The mechanism of action involves a synergistic approach to bone mineralization: Calcium provides the structural building blocks for the bone matrix; Vitamin D3 facilitates the intestinal absorption of calcium and maintains adequate serum concentrations; and Vitamin K2 activates osteocalcin, a protein produced by osteoblasts that binds calcium to the bone matrix, while simultaneously preventing calcium deposition in the arterial walls. This triple-action formulation is designed to optimize bone density and reduce the risk of fractures in populations with or at risk for bone loss.
