Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BoneMedik-S is a synthetic bone graft substitute composed of silicon-substituted hydroxyapatite (Si-HA). Developed by Meta Biomed, it is utilized in dental and orthopedic surgeries to facilitate bone regeneration in defects. The material is designed to be osteoconductive, providing a porous scaffold that supports the attachment, migration, and proliferation of osteogenic cells. The incorporation of silicon into the hydroxyapatite structure is intended to enhance the material's bioactivity and accelerate the bone healing process compared to traditional hydroxyapatite. Over time, the graft is integrated into the host bone and undergoes gradual resorption as new bone is formed.
