Boostagen is a recombinant acellular pertussis, tetanus, and diphtheria (TdaP) booster vaccine developed by BioNet-Asia. It is distinguished by its use of a genetically inactivated pertussis toxin (PTgen), produced by a recombinant *Bordetella pertussis* strain containing two site-directed mutations (Arg9Lys and Glu129Gly). This genetic detoxification method preserves the natural conformational epitopes of the pertussis toxin more effectively than traditional chemical detoxification with formaldehyde, potentially enhancing the quality and longevity of the immune response. Boostagen also contains filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), tetanus toxoid, and diphtheria toxoid, adsorbed onto an aluminum adjuvant. It is primarily indicated as a booster dose for adolescents and adults to provide active immunity against pertussis, tetanus, and diphtheria.
