Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BOOSTVIT is a multi-ingredient oral supplement developed and marketed by Biokemical Pharma (Biokem Pharmaceuticals). Its primary active component is methylcobalamin, the neurologically active form of vitamin B12, which serves as an essential cofactor for enzymes involved in methylation and nerve metabolism. Specifically, it is required for the conversion of homocysteine to methionine, a process critical for DNA synthesis and the maintenance of the myelin sheath in the nervous system. The formulation is supplemented with other vitamins and antioxidants to support general metabolic health, treat nutritional deficiencies, and provide neuroprotective support in conditions such as peripheral neuropathy. As a finished pharmaceutical formulation, it is commercially available in the Indian market for antioxidant and neuropathy support.
