Boroda Supramolecular Active Zinc is an investigational topical therapy being developed for the treatment of scalp psoriasis. Developed by Xijing Hospital in collaboration with Shanghai Ruizhi Pharmaceutical Technology, the treatment utilizes supramolecular chemistry to enhance the stability and delivery of active zinc to the skin. Zinc is known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-proliferative properties, which are beneficial in managing the hyperkeratosis and inflammation characteristic of psoriasis. The formulation is typically administered as a conditioner that is applied to the affected scalp area, massaged, and then rinsed off. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to compare its efficacy and safety against standard treatments such as calcipotriol.
