**Boron glycine monoester (BGM)** is a synthetic boron-containing compound investigated primarily for its potential anticancer, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities. Preclinical research indicates that BGM exhibits cytotoxic effects against cancer cell lines, such as glioblastoma (U87MG) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2), with IC50 values of 6.6 mM and 9.9 mM after 48 hours of exposure, respectively. BGM treatment leads to decreased catalase and acid phosphatase enzyme activities, increased markers of oxidative stress, and reduction in cell viability. In addition, BGM has demonstrated antimicrobial activity. BGM's mechanism is not fully elucidated but appears to involve modulation of oxidative stress and metabolic enzyme pathways. No evidence is available indicating regulatory approval or clinical usage; its status remains investigational in preclinical in vitro studies.[1][3]
