Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Borraginol EX (also known as Oral Borraginol EX) is a Category 2 OTC oral medicine developed and marketed by Amato Pharmaceutical Products and manufactured by Zaiseido Pharmaceutical. It is formulated as an oral tablet containing a proprietary mixture of ten herbal extracts: Phellodendron bark, Glycyrrhiza (licorice), Safflower, Bupleurum root, Cimicifuga rhizome, Atractylodes lancea rhizome, Rhubarb, Citrus unshiu peel, Angelica acutiloba root, and Persica seed (peach kernel). It is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with hemorrhoids (including internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, and bleeding hemorrhoids) and anal fissures. The formulation works from within the body to improve peripheral blood circulation around the anus, reduce congestion, suppress inflammation, and relieve pain, swelling, and itching.
