Borraginol Premium

Borraginol Premium is an approved over-the-counter (OTC) hemorrhoid treatment developed by Amato Pharmaceutical Products (a subsidiary of Rohto Pharmaceutical). It is classified as a Category 2 (Designated Class 2) OTC drug in Japan and is available in multiple formulations, including an ointment, prefilled disposable applicators, and suppositories. The product is administered rectally or topically to relieve pain, bleeding, swelling, and itching associated with painful hemorrhoids. Borraginol Premium is a multi-ingredient combination therapy containing prednisolone acetate (a corticosteroid targeting glucocorticoid receptors to suppress inflammation), lidocaine (a local anesthetic targeting sodium channels for pain relief), chlorpheniramine maleate (an antihistamine targeting histamine H1 receptors to relieve itching), allantoin (to promote wound healing), tocopherol acetate (to improve peripheral blood circulation), and other supportive active ingredients such as isopropyl methylphenol (an antiseptic) or glycyrrhetinic acid (an anti-inflammatory agent), depending on the specific formulation.
