Overview
Bortezomib + omeprazole is a combination of two small molecule drugs administered concomitantly in clinical settings, primarily to evaluate safety and drug-drug interactions. Bortezomib is a reversible inhibitor of the 26S proteasome, disrupting protein degradation, inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, and ultimately acting as an antineoplastic agent in multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting H+/K+ ATPase in gastric parietal cells, and is commonly used for acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. Pharmacokinetic and clinical studies indicate no significant interaction or alteration in efficacy, safety, metabolism, or pharmacodynamics when these drugs are coadministered[1][2][3].
