Overview

BOS-356 (also known as GSK 3008356) is a small molecule drug developed for the treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris. It acts as a selective inhibitor of diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1), an enzyme involved in triglyceride synthesis. By inhibiting DGAT1, BOS-356 aims to reduce sebum production and inflammation associated with acne. The drug was originally developed by GlaxoSmithKline and later by Boston Pharmaceuticals. Its primary route of administration is topical application, and it has completed phase I clinical trials for acne vulgaris[1][2][4][5].
