Boscisucrophage (BSP) is a natural dual inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporter 1 (SGLT1) and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) derived from the seeds of *Boscia senegalensis*, a plant native to the Sahelian region of Africa. It is formulated as a 350 mg capsule for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), particularly in patients who have developed resistance to conventional oral antihyperglycemic drugs. By inhibiting SGLT1 in the gastrointestinal tract and SGLT2 in the kidneys, it reduces intestinal glucose absorption and promotes urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering blood glucose and HbA1c levels. Clinical studies involving over 300 patients have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing glycemia and alleviating functional symptoms of T2DM with a favorable safety profile.
