Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Boswellia sacra essential oil is a botanical extract derived from the resin of the *Boswellia sacra* tree, commonly known as frankincense. Developed by AYUB R&D, the oil and its various enriched or fractionated derivatives (such as AYUB 15 and AYUB HSF) are being investigated for their anti-tumor properties against a range of solid malignancies, including colorectal, breast, bladder, and pancreatic cancers. The extract contains a complex mixture of bioactive compounds, including boswellic acids and terpenes, which have demonstrated the ability to induce apoptosis and suppress cell viability in multiple human cancer cell lines. Currently in the preclinical stage, the research focuses on optimizing the extraction and fractionation processes to enhance the potency and selectivity of the oil's anti-cancer effects.
