Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**BOT MAB** is a monoclonal antibody-based medical countermeasure (MCM) developed for intramuscular administration to prevent and reduce disease incidence or progression in adults following exposure to botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) serotypes A and B. It neutralizes these highly potent Category A bioterrorism threats produced by Clostridium botulinum, offering advantages over traditional antitoxins such as consistent potency, low immunogenicity risk, and post-exposure efficacy without hypersensitivity issues. Advanced by Ology Bioservices under a $250 million US Department of Defense contract, it is progressing through regulatory, science, technology, manufacturing, and evaluation activities toward FDA licensure for warfighter protection against engineered biological weapons.[1]
