Overview

IZN-6N4 is an oral rinse containing 1% botanical extracts, developed for its potential anti-inflammatory and antimucositis activity. It has been investigated primarily for the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis, a common and painful side effect in patients undergoing chemoradiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Clinical studies have shown that patients treated with IZN-6N4 experienced less mouth and throat pain, reduced soreness, and were better able to maintain their weight during radiotherapy compared to controls. The product is based on pharmaceutically active compounds derived from botanical sources[1][3][4][5]. The mechanism of action is believed to be related to the anti-inflammatory properties of the plant-derived ingredients[1]. Developed by Izun Pharmaceuticals, it represents a novel approach in supportive care for oncology patients where few approved alternatives exist[2][4].
