Drug intelligence / Profile preview
"Both 2nd and 3rd doses on time" refers to the standard, recommended dosing schedule of the recombinant quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (Gardasil). This schedule was evaluated in a prospective observational study conducted by Duke University ("Alternate Dosing Schedules Study for HPV Vaccine", NCT02280642). The study compared the immunogenicity (antibody titers and avidity) of this standard on-time dosing schedule (where the second dose is given 1-2 months after the first, and the third dose is given 6 months after the first) against various delayed dosing schedules in healthy girls aged 9 to 18. The underlying quadrivalent vaccine targets the L1 major capsid proteins of HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18 to prevent cervical cancer, genital warts, and other HPV-associated lesions.
