Botulinum toxin + porcine collagen is a combination therapy investigated for the treatment of skin aging and facial rejuvenation. Botulinum toxin type A acts by cleaving the SNAP-25 protein, which inhibits the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, thereby relaxing the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. Porcine collagen, often derived from porcine skin, serves as a structural scaffold that provides immediate volume to the dermal extracellular matrix and stimulates fibroblasts to produce endogenous collagen. This dual-action approach is designed to address both dynamic expression lines and static wrinkles while improving overall skin texture, elasticity, and hydration.
