Overview

Bovine anti-Helicobacter pylori antibodies are polyclonal immunoglobulins derived from the colostrum or milk of cows that have been immunized with Helicobacter pylori antigens. These antibodies are produced in high titers and can be administered orally as a form of passive immunotherapy. Their mechanism of action involves binding to H. pylori bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby inhibiting bacterial adhesion to gastric mucosa and neutralizing pathogenic factors, which may reduce colonization or eradicate infection. This approach is being explored as an alternative or adjunct to antibiotic therapy for H. pylori infection due to rising antibiotic resistance[1][8]. The primary indication is for the prevention or treatment of H. pylori-associated diseases such as gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and potentially gastric cancer.
