Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The bovine leukemia virus vaccine is a veterinary vaccine under development by SET Technology (SYTE.bio) for the prevention of bovine leukemia virus (BLV) infection in cattle. BLV is an oncogenic deltaretrovirus that infects B-lymphocytes, causing enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL), persistent lymphocytosis, and lymphosarcoma, leading to significant economic losses in the global dairy and beef industries. Developed using SYTE's proprietary non-viral synthetic biology platforms, the vaccine utilizes DNA or RNA technology to express viral antigens and stimulate a protective immune response without the biosafety risks associated with traditional live-attenuated or viral-vector vaccines.
