Overview
Bovine LH superagonist is a recombinant protein analog of bovine luteinizing hormone (bLH) developed by Trophogen. It is designed to act as a high-potency superagonist at the luteinizing hormone receptor (LHR). In cattle, LH signaling is essential for the formation and function of the corpus luteum, which secretes progesterone to maintain pregnancy. The superagonist is engineered to provide superior bioactivity and a longer half-life compared to native LH or human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), thereby enhancing progesterone production and reducing early embryonic loss in beef and dairy cows. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development for veterinary applications.
