Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BOX101-1 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of semaglutide developed by Bostal Pharma for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. Designed for once-monthly (1M) subcutaneous administration, BOX101-1 utilizes Bostal's proprietary drug delivery technologies (such as microsphere-based or in-situ gel-forming depot systems) to provide stable and extended release of semaglutide. As a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, it mimics the action of endogenous GLP-1 to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppress glucagon secretion, and slow gastric emptying, thereby improving glycemic control and promoting weight loss. BOX101-1 is currently in Phase 2/3 clinical development.
