Overview

BP-001 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD19 antigen, which is expressed on the surface of most B-cell lineage malignancies. Developed by BiocurePharm, a subsidiary of Biocure Technology, the therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's T-cells to express a CAR specific for CD19. Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered T-cells identify and destroy CD19-positive malignant B-cells. BP-001 is being investigated for the treatment of B-cell cancers, specifically Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), and has advanced into clinical development in South Korea following IND approval.
