Overview

**BP-205** is an investigational, orally bioavailable small-molecule agonist of orexin receptor type 2 being developed for central disorders of hypersomnolence, including narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. The compound was discovered by Teijin Pharma, licensed to Bioprojet, and is co-developed with Harmony Biosciences, which holds U.S. and Latin American development, manufacturing, and commercialization rights. BP-205 has demonstrated high potency and selectivity for orexin receptor type 2, with more than 600-fold selectivity over orexin receptor type 1 in preclinical testing; it is intended to promote wakefulness and suppress cataplexy. It is in Phase 1 clinical development, with initial single-ascending-dose data reporting favorable pharmacokinetic and safety/tolerability findings.
