Overview

BP102 + epirubicin + cyclophosphamide + paclitaxel is a combination therapy being investigated as an adjuvant treatment for patients with the basal-like immunosuppressed (BLIS) subtype of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). The regimen consists of BP102, a targeted anti-vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) agent, and a standard dose-dense chemotherapy regimen known as ddEC-P (dose-dense epirubicin and cyclophosphamide followed by paclitaxel). BP102 is designed to inhibit angiogenesis by blocking VEGFR signaling, which is particularly relevant in the BLIS subtype of TNBC characterized by high VEGF expression. The chemotherapy components provide cytotoxic effects through multiple mechanisms: epirubicin acts as a topoisomerase II inhibitor and DNA intercalator, cyclophosphamide serves as a DNA alkylating agent, and paclitaxel functions as a microtubule stabilizer. This combination approach aims to improve survival outcomes by simultaneously targeting tumor vasculature and cell proliferation in a high-risk patient population.
