Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BPA83 is an investigational, gut-restricted small molecule Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor being developed by InnoBM Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically ulcerative colitis. Developed using the company's proprietary tissue-specific delivery (TSD) platform, BPA83 is designed to concentrate its therapeutic effect within the intestinal mucosa while maintaining very low systemic exposure. This localized delivery profile aims to maximize anti-inflammatory efficacy at the site of disease while minimizing the systemic safety concerns typically associated with JAK inhibitors, such as cytopenias or thromboembolic events. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
