Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BPBC is a preclinical-stage, multi-epitope, nanoparticle-based vaccine candidate developed by Panacea Biotec in partnership with the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI). Funded by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), the vaccine is designed to provide broad-spectrum protection against various betacoronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2 variants, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV. The platform utilizes highly immunogenic antigens to elicit both humoral and cellular immune responses. The development program is currently in the antigen discovery and proof-of-concept phase, with the goal of creating a pan-betacoronavirus vaccine that can address future pandemic threats.
