BPC2001 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by BioPhoenix Co., Ltd. that targets the alpha subunit of the interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2Rα), also known as CD25. CD25 is highly expressed on activated T cells, which play a critical role in the development of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). By binding to CD25, BPC2001 competitively inhibits the binding of IL-2 to its receptor, thereby suppressing T-cell activation and proliferation. The drug is primarily being investigated for the prevention of acute GvHD in patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Haplo-SCT), typically as an adjunct to standard immunosuppressive regimens like the Beijing Protocol.
