Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BPF-CCRT is a neoadjuvant concurrent chemoradiation (CCRT) regimen under investigation for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). This regimen combines Bevacizumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), with a standard platinum-fluorouracil (PF) chemotherapy regimen and concurrent radiation therapy. The goal of BPF-CCRT is to enhance treatment response and increase pathological complete response rates in patients with ESCC, particularly given the unsatisfactory outcomes with existing therapies and the role of VEGF-A in prognosis.
