Overview

BPH‑628 is a synthetic small molecule bisphosphonate compound with the chemical structure of (1-hydroxy‑1‑phosphono‑2‑[1,1';4',1'']terphenyl‑3‑yl‑ethyl)phosphonic acid. Bisphosphonates are known for their ability to inhibit bone resorption by targeting osteoclasts and interfering with the mevalonate pathway, specifically inhibiting farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase. This class of compounds is primarily used in the treatment of diseases characterized by excessive bone resorption such as osteoporosis and Paget’s disease. However, there is no evidence that BPH–628 has been approved or marketed for any indication; it appears to be a research compound or investigational agent[1][2][3].
