Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BPI-004 is a small molecule developed by BeyondSpring Inc. It functions by inducing the production of neoantigens by tumor cells. This mechanism allows tumors that typically lack immune cell infiltration to become recognized by the immune system, thereby potentially making them responsive to immunotherapies such as PD-1 inhibitors. Many human cancers do not produce antigens that the immune system can recognize, rendering them unresponsive to immune checkpoint blockade. BPI-004 aims to overcome this resistance by making these "cold" tumors "hot" and susceptible to immune-mediated attack.
