BPI-9202 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody being developed by Beta Pharma. It is designed to simultaneously target two key immune checkpoint pathways: CD47 (Cluster of Differentiation 47) and PD-L1 (Programmed Death-Ligand 1). CD47 is a 'don't eat me' signal expressed on the surface of many cancer cells that inhibits phagocytosis by macrophages, while PD-L1 is a ligand that suppresses T-cell activation by binding to the PD-1 receptor. By dual-targeting these proteins, BPI-9202 aims to synergistically enhance both innate and adaptive anti-tumor immune responses. The drug is currently in early-stage development for the treatment of solid tumors.
