BPI-9203 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody being developed by Beta Pharma. It is designed to simultaneously target CD47 and Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1). CD47 is a cell surface protein that acts as a "don't eat me" signal, allowing cancer cells to evade phagocytosis by macrophages. PD-L1 is an immune checkpoint protein that binds to PD-1 on T-cells to suppress the adaptive immune response. By blocking both CD47 and PD-L1, BPI-9203 aims to enhance both innate and adaptive antitumor immunity, potentially offering a synergistic therapeutic effect in the treatment of solid tumors.
